Nutrition Benefits Outreach
We help with applications for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), SUN Bucks, and MC Groceries to reduce barriers to access and connect families, seniors, and individuals to the resources they qualify for.
If you need help with your benefits application, visit Nutrition Benefits Support.
How we connect families with local and federal food assistance programs
- We assist families with new applications and renewals for benefit programs like SNAP, SUN Bucks, and MC Groceries.
- We also help households maintain benefits by filing benefit review forms when their income or home address changes.
- Our team offers training on benefit eligibility rules and pre-screening for staff at partner organizations.
- We conduct information sessions on benefit programs, answering questions about eligibility, applications, and common misconceptions.
- We attend community events to share resources and help connect families in need with Nutrition Benefits Coordinators or sign up for Food for Families.
- With our partners, we support connecting families with wraparound support, meeting diverse needs such as healthcare, employment assistance, utility bill assistance, and more.

Impact
SNAP is the nation’s first defense against hunger. Nearly 70,000 Montgomery County residents are helped by SNAP to buy food for their families.
574 households
In 2025, we assisted 574 households in accessing food benefit programs, 51% of whom were families with children.
$1 = $1.79
SNAP is good for local economies: each dollar in federally funded SNAP benefits generates $1.79 in economic activity.
“Between work and the kids sometimes you start something and forget to finish it. If it wasn’t for [Manna’s Nutrition Benefits Outreach Team] I may not put food on the table and feed my kids.”
