Community Food Education
To support long-term wellbeing of our neighbors facing hunger, we teach how food affects the body, show how to use available food in healthy ways, share simple and affordable meal ideas, and build confidence in the kitchen with education that respects culture, traditions, and real-life needs.

Everyone deserves access to nutrition education
We want to help Manna participants use the food they receive in healthy ways.
- We work with Montgomery County Public Schools and community partners to offer healthy eating workshops for children, teens, and adults.
- We offer simple classes, videos, and recipes for participants.
- We partner with health clinics and food providers to connect people to more support.
- Grants and shared funding allow us to keep the program free for participants.
- Participants and community partners provide feedback to help us improve the education we provide.
Impact
Stronger communities start with informed choices. By increasing nutrition knowledge, we support healthier families, reduce diet-related health risks, and strengthen the long-term impact of food access programs across our community.
Get involved
Volunteer
Interested volunteers can sign up to volunteer. Volunteers for youth classes must submit to a background check and participate in MCPS training on mandated reporting.

We welcome partnerships with agencies and nonprofit organizations to work together to provide healthy food to our neighbors and lasting solutions to end hunger.
