How can I get food?

We welcome all residents of Montgomery County. Call our main office at 301-424-1130.

Do I need a referral to get food?

You do not need a referral to get food. Visit Get Food for instructions.

How do I get assistance for my clients?

Donating to Manna

How do I donate funds?

Every dollar from our community helps us keep our shelves stocked, fuels our trucks, and supports our programs so that no neighbor goes hungry. You can make a tax-deductible donation online or by mail. We also accept stock and planned gift donations, donor advised funds, and qualified charitable distributions. How do I donate food?

You can drop off food donations at our warehouse or administrative office. Visit Donate Food for addresses, donation instructions, and information on our most-needed foods.

Will I get a receipt for my donation?

For food donations, receipts are available upon request during normal business hours

For monetary donations, you will receive a receipt if you include contact information when you make your donation.

What is your tax ID number?

Our federal tax ID number is 52-1289203. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

How will my donation be used?

Ninety-four cents of every dollar that is donated to Manna goes directly into programs that provide food for our neighbors in need. We use funds to purchase produce, proteins, and pantry staples to keep our shelves stocked, to fuel our trucks, and to run programs that build food security in Montgomery County.

How do I host a food drive?

We welcome donations collected through food drives from local groups, organizations, and businesses. Visit Host a Food Drive for more information.

Do you accept donations of food near its expiration date?

Yes, we can distribute certain foods past their best by or sell by dates. Visit Expired foods for details.

Do you accept fresh or homemade food donations?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept fresh or homemade food donations. Visit Donate Food for information about the foods you can donate.

Do you have bulk services?

Bulk donations from farmers, farmers markets, and the food service industry are essential.

We partner with farmers, farmers markets, grocery stores, and restaurants for bulk donations. If you’re interested in making a bulk donation, please contact us.

Do you accept ice packs, reusable bags, and styrofoam?

We cannot accept ice packs, reusable bags, or styrofoam at this time. Visit the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection for information about how to dispose of different materials.

Do you accept donations of non-food items, such as enteral formula, blankets, toiletries, and other hygiene products?

We do not accept donations of non-food items. Visit the Montgomery County Volunteer Center for information about where you can donate non-food items in our community.

Do you accept pet food donations?

Although we do not accept or distribute pet food donations, House with a Heart Senior Pet Sanctuary in Gaithersburg, Maryland accepts pet food donations. 

Inclement weather

What is your inclement weather policy?

In the event of inclement weather, we typically follow the Montgomery County government closures, but may decide to close if conditions are unsafe for travel. Please check our website and social media pages for updates.
